If You Have Nor Been Squaring Circles In Your Own Life, How Do Horses Know?

According to Buck Brannaman the now famous horse whisperer, Horses just do. He says," Most of the things people have going wrong in their relationship with a horse have a lot to do with the baggage they bring to the table. It is manifested in their relationship to the horse. A horse is so sensitive, it can't deal with a person packing that much baggage. It's not a workable situation for a horse. In order to meet the horse at a place where he accepts you, you have to get a handle on that stuff".

Isn't It An Open Secret That As Humans We React To Each Other In The Same Way?

Don't we sense the presence of emotional dissonance and unease in another person immediately? Don't we, just like horses and dogs and probably other living things too, pick up the bad vibes. Don't we ourselves also feel uncomfortable, when the vibes are coming from someone else.

To comprehend and learn from this, it is vital in my view that we live our lives allowing two principles to direct our relationships - and even our relationships within our families and with pets too.

First, unique as each of us are, we should remember that every thought we each think, every feeling we each feel are unique to each us. A few others may come close to thinking and feeling the same on occasions, but they will still never be identical. Our very uniqueness makes that impossible. And if we think or feel something long enough, that becomes part of our apparently natural behaviour to others, wittingly or unwittingly.

Second: just as we can have volunteered naively to store emotional baggage causing us to put these inhibiting behavioural patterns in place, so we can decide - equally voluntarily - to work through this baggage and lift the blocks on having easier and better relationships.

Does it work? I can vouch for that. Is it easy? No, but if it matters enough to you, beneficial emotional change is achievable.
